Non-Gaming Related Supplier Exemption

A person who provides goods or services for the operation of a gaming premises is exempt from the requirement to register as a non-gaming-related supplier if the person has obtained a written certificate of exemption from the Registrar stating that,

  1. in the opinion of the Registrar
    1. in any 12-month period starting April and ending March 31st of the next year, the value of the goods or services that the person provides to any one gaming premises does not exceed $100,000 and that the total value of the goods and services that the person provides to all casinos, charity casinos, and slot machine facility premises does not exceed $300,000, or
    2. the person's business is regulated by the government of Ontario or Canada or an agency of them and the regulating body has carried out a due diligence investigation of the person that is satisfactory to the Registrar; and
  2. the Registrar is satisfied that issuing the certificate is not contrary to the public interest.

If you plan to provide goods and services under $100,000 per year (or under $300,000 in aggregate for more than one facility) for the operation of a casino, charity casino or slot machine facility at a racetrack or to the landlord of a premises used for gaming-related purposes, you may be exempt from registration with a certificate of exemption from the Registrar of Alcohol and Gaming.
